Our Better Angels explores the tension between empathy and division, asking how individuals and societies navigate competing impulses toward care, control, and self-interest. Through ceramic forms and symbolic pairings, the work reflects on how moral frameworks are shaped by cultural narratives, political influence, and inherited systems of belief. Positioned between optimism and skepticism, the exhibition considers whether the “better angels” of human nature can emerge within structures that often reward extraction, hierarchy, and opposition.
